The soil
Our 14 hectares of vineyards are based around the village of Murviel-les-Montpellier, 8km to the west of Montpellier. Our parcels are on a variety of slopes and at various altitudes, the Mediterranean seas’ influence is frequently present in the morning mists and more moderate temperatures.
A variety of Jurassic limestone, iron oxide and calcite soils give our unique sites their character. These rocky slopes are perfect for vineyards, olive groves and wild herbs, the native flora and fauna provides excellent biological diversity. We share our environment with rabbits, hares, snakes, lizards and wild boar. A wide range of woods and wild land provides an ever changing palette of seasonal colours.
Grape Variety
We craft our wines from a wide range of grape varieties. From the classic Languedoc selection of Syrah, Grenache noir, Mourvedre, Marsanne, Grenache blanc and Roussanne to our experimental varieties, Sangiovese, Malbec and Petit Verdot which are grafted onto established vines. Our new plantations of atypical Southern European varieties Assyrtiko and Fiano, reflect our passion for dry white wines and a need to adapt to the changing climate.
