After much exploration of different wine making areas of the world, Liz and Robin Williamson acquired 12 hectares of mixed vineyards and fields in the Languedoc with the aim of making quality wines. Wine enthusiasts for whom wine tasting courses were not enough, Robin returned to school to learn viticulture and winemaking and the adventure began in 2003. The Languedoc is a patchwork of exceptional winemaking sites and the dry and windy climate is excellent for making organic wines from ripe fruit.
We searched from Nimes to the Spanish border for several months to find the ideal area with the right elements to realise our project. Close to Montpellier, the estate was small and full of potential, giving us the possibility to plant new grape varieties and create our own wines. The vineyards are surrounded by olive trees and native woods, and the cellar has a view to the Mediterranean Sea. Wine has been made in the historic village of Murviel-les-Montpellier since Roman times.
